Labrador gas prices fluctuate after PUB review
Gas prices have changed across Labrador due to a recent review by the Public Utilities Board (PUB). The review led to adjustments in price markups and the introduction of a new pricing zone in Cartwright. Most fuel prices saw fluctuations after the PUB's changes. In Labrador, gasoline prices now vary between $1.70 and $2.01 per litre. Diesel prices also changed, decreasing by up to 14.5 cents in Cartwright and by smaller amounts in other zones. Diesel now ranges from $1.94 to $2.11 per litre. Stove oil prices experienced mixed changes as well. Prices went up in some areas but dropped significantly in others, with maximum prices now between $1.20 and $1.52 per litre. In Newfoundland, gas prices increased by 2.3 cents per litre. This change moved the maximum price on the Avalon Peninsula to just under $1.68 per litre. Elsewhere, prices range from $1.68 to $1.83 per litre. Diesel prices in Newfoundland decreased by 3.5 cents. Furnace oil prices also fell by more than three cents per litre, resulting in maximum prices between $1.25 and $1.45 per litre. Propane prices dropped by 4.2 cents across Newfoundland, while they fluctuated in Labrador. Overall, the PUB will now make price adjustments on Fridays instead of Thursdays.
