Lake County dispatchers instrumental in suspect's arrest
Dispatchers from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office are being praised for their quick actions that helped locate and stop a violent suspect. On Tuesday morning, a woman called 911 to report that the man she was with was becoming aggressive while they were driving. The dispatchers tracked the caller's location to U.S. Route 45 and Center Street in Grayslake. One dispatcher stayed on the line to gather more details, while others alerted local police departments about the situation. When the call was lost, they were able to reconnect and continued to follow the car's route to Buffalo Grove. Police officers were able to stop the vehicle and arrest Hector O. Cortes Del Rio, a 26-year-old from Beach Park. He has been charged with unlawful restraint and domestic battery. The woman had injuries but refused hospital treatment. Sheriff John Idleburg commended the dispatchers for their work and dedication to keeping the community safe. In other news, Antioch police are searching for a missing woman named Megan Bos. The 37-year-old was last seen by her family on February 17. She is known to spend time in several nearby cities. Police are following leads and ask anyone with information about her to contact them. Additionally, the Lake County Coroner’s Office has identified a man who died after being struck by a train in Lake Forest on March 14. William Morgan, 72, died from blunt force injuries when the train hit him near the Metra station. Finally, the Round Lake Beach police are looking for a name for their new K-9 officer. Residents can vote for their favorite name from four options: Dez, Vader, Jango, and Iko, through a poll on the department's Facebook page.
