Lake Drive in Fox Point will close for summer

Lake Drive in Fox Point will close for construction starting Monday. The closure will affect the stretch between School and Dean roads. The work is expected to last for most of the summer. Drivers should use the posted detour route. This will take them from Silver Spring Drive to Port Washington Road, then to Brown Deer Road. Residents on Lake Drive or in the areas east of it should limit their driving in the construction zone. Santa Monica will serve as a north-south route, with nearby cross streets available for access to homes. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation states that the first phase of the project involves replacing a water main. This part will run from March to May. From April to July, crews will upgrade storm sewer and drainage systems. Updates on the project will be available online, and residents can sign up for email notifications.
