LaLiga prohibits jersey numbers above 25 for players
Trent Alexander-Arnold may soon join Real Madrid from Liverpool, but he will have to leave behind his famous No. 66 jersey. Reports indicate that Real Madrid is confident about signing him on a free transfer when his contract ends. While Liverpool has not confirmed any deal, fans are preparing for the possibility of losing the talented right-back. However, there’s an interesting rule in LaLiga regarding player numbers. In LaLiga, first-team players can only wear jersey numbers from 1 to 25. This means Alexander-Arnold will need to choose a new number if he moves to Madrid. Throughout his career with England, he has worn the numbers 2, 7, 8, and 10. One of these could become his new choice at the Bernabéu.
