L&T promotes Subramanian Sarma as Deputy Managing Director
Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has promoted Subramanian Sarma to Deputy Managing Director and President. This change will take effect on April 2, 2025. Sarma was previously a whole-time director at the company. His promotion was announced on March 21, 2025. Sarma's new term will last until February 3, 2028. S.N. Subrahmanyan, the Chairman and Managing Director of L&T, praised Sarma's contributions. He noted that Sarma has played a key role in improving the company's Hydrocarbon and Energy sectors, encouraging innovation and operational excellence. Subramanian Sarma has over 40 years of experience. He has spent around 30 years working with L&T, particularly in the Middle East, managing projects in the Oil and Gas sector. He holds degrees in Chemical Engineering and a Master's from IIT Mumbai. Before L&T, Sarma was the Managing Director of a global EPC contractor. Sarma expressed gratitude for his new role and the trust placed in him by L&T’s board members. He looks forward to helping the company grow and create value for its stakeholders. In financial news, L&T's shares rose by 2.03% to close at ₹ 3,417.35. This increase came after the company announced plans to raise funds through a debt issue.
