L&T Technology Services unveils AI railway inspection solution

L&T Technology Services Limited (LTTS) has introduced a new railway track inspection system called TrackEi. This system uses artificial intelligence to improve safety and efficiency in rail networks. TrackEi is powered by the NVIDIA Jetson platform for edge AI and robotics. It can detect defects in real-time and help with predictive maintenance. This is an important upgrade since traditional inspection methods rely on manual checks or slow-moving trolleys, which can miss critical flaws. With TrackEi, inspections can now be carried out at speeds over 60 miles per hour. The system uses high-resolution cameras and laser profiling to spot issues like broken rails, cracks, and misalignments. This automation aims to prevent accidents and improve the overall safety of rail transportation.
