Larvotto Resources buys venue to support NSW mine workforce
Larvotto Resources has purchased a homestead and wedding venue near its Hillgrove mine in New South Wales. This acquisition will help the company support a growing workforce as it prepares to start production in early 2026. The company will spend $3 million in cash and $600,000 in shares to acquire the Echidna Gully site. The venue can accommodate 95 people, providing housing for its permanent workers. The deal addresses a critical housing shortage in regional Australia and will serve as a hub for operations close to the mine. Larvotto's CEO, Ron Heeks, stated that the purchase is a key part of their strategy to support the workforce at the Hillgrove project. The proximity of Echidna Gully will save time and costs for the company, eliminating the need for additional housing infrastructure. The Hillgrove mine aims to produce around 7% of the global antimony supply. As demand for antimony rises, particularly for use in solar panel production, Larvotto plans to develop both antimony and gold resources at the site. This project is seen as significant for creating job opportunities in the region. Overall, Larvotto Resources is making strategic moves to ensure a successful restart of operations at the Hillgrove mine while addressing workforce accommodations and production logistics.
