Laurene Powell Jobs begins spiritual retreat in India ahead of Maha Kumbh Mela 2025
Laurene Powell Jobs, widow of Steve Jobs, has started a 17-day spiritual retreat in India. She visited the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and will participate in the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, where she has been given the name 'Kamala.' The Maha Kumbh Mela, beginning January 13, is expected to attract over 45 crore visitors this year. The Uttar Pradesh government has enhanced infrastructure and safety measures, including AI-powered surveillance and electric buses, to accommodate the large crowds. During her retreat, Powell Jobs will engage in Hindu rituals and teachings under the guidance of her guru, Swami Kailashanand Giri. This visit marks her second trip to India, reflecting her interest in exploring Indian spirituality.
