LB Nagar MLA faces legal action for derogatory remarks

LB Nagar MLA D. Sudheer Reddy has been accused of making derogatory comments based on caste. The remarks were directed toward Hasthinapuram corporator Banoth Sujatha during a media event. Following Ms. Sujatha's complaint, a case has been registered under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, and Section 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The local police inspector, K. Vinod Kumar, confirmed the details. Ms. Sujatha claimed that Mr. Sudheer Reddy's comments were offensive and meant to demean her in public. She mentioned that he insulted her modesty and disrespected her community, the Lambada. She stated that these remarks were not only degrading to her but also hurtful to her family. Ms. Sujatha added that this was not the first time Mr. Sudheer Reddy made caste-based insults toward her. The investigation into this case is ongoing.
