Leaders shared strategies to transform disruption into opportunity
Leaders from various companies gathered at BT MindRush 2025 to discuss how to turn challenges into opportunities in a world defined by disruption. This panel featured CEOs from Tata Power, KPIT Technologies, Persistent Systems, and Logitech, who shared their insights on embracing change. Praveer Sinha, CEO of Tata Power, spoke first. He highlighted the shift from coal-based energy to renewable sources. Sinha recognized the importance of decarbonization in the years leading up to 2018-19. Although critics doubted the decision to move away from a profitable coal business, Tata Power invested in solar and wind energy. This choice has paid off, resulting in significant profit and stock price growth over the past decade. Next, Kishor Patil, CEO of KPIT Technologies, shared how his company reinvented itself by focusing solely on the automotive industry. He described the transformation of cars into advanced machines, emphasizing the importance of embracing disruption. KPIT shifted its activities towards automotive software, which now positions them as leaders in innovations, such as autonomous vehicles. Sandeep Kalra, CEO of Persistent Systems, addressed concerns about artificial intelligence (AI) in the workforce. He assured that AI would create more job opportunities rather than eliminate them. Kalra emphasized the need for engineers to adapt and upskill in order to harness AI's potential effectively. Anand Lakshmanan from Logitech discussed how the pandemic changed the company's operations. With a shift to virtual meetings, Logitech's products became essential for remote work. He pointed out that hybrid work is here to stay and emphasized the importance of creating user-friendly technology that enhances productivity. The discussion highlighted a common theme among the leaders: viewing disruption as an opportunity rather than a threat. Their experiences show that bold decisions and a willingness to take risks can lead to growth and innovation. The overall message was clear: disruption is not the end, but rather the start of new possibilities for those ready to lead.
