Leadership Allegany Rising graduates 24 high school juniors

CUMBERLAND — The Allegany County Chamber of Commerce recently held a graduation ceremony for the Leadership Allegany Rising class of 2025. This year, 24 high school juniors participated in the program. Leadership Allegany Rising aims to promote positive change and build a network of future leaders. Students came from several local high schools, including Allegany High School and Fort Hill High School. During the program, students learned about important topics such as healthcare, government, and economic development. They received scholarships for Allegany College of Maryland and Frostburg State University. Mani Vahedi Kafshgari from Bishop Walsh School spoke at the ceremony. He shared experiences from the program and thanked sponsors for their support. Recruitment for the Class of 2026 will start in August and September 2025.
