Lee Jae Wook considers first doctor role in drama

Lee Jae Wook is in talks to play a doctor for the first time in a new drama titled “HODL Doctor.” The news was reported on March 21 by OSEN. A representative from Lee's agency confirmed that this project is one of the offers he has received. “HODL Doctor” is based on a webtoon that started in February 2022 and continues to be published. The story follows Do Ji Eui, a plastic surgeon who finds himself working as a public health doctor on a remote island called Pyeongdongdo. He faces many challenges while treating patients and dealing with the island's unique residents. The drama will be directed by Lee Myung Woo, known for works like “The Fiery Priest.” If Lee Jae Wook decides to take the role, it will mark his first portrayal of a doctor since he debuted in 2018. In addition to this project, Lee Jae Wook is also preparing for the release of his upcoming Netflix historical romance, “Hong Rang,” and will appear in a variety show called “Fresh off the Sea 2.”
