Lee Kang-in ruled out for South Korea vs Jordan
South Korea will be without key player Lee Kang-in for their important World Cup qualifying match against Jordan. The 24-year-old midfielder from Paris Saint-Germain is sidelined due to an ankle injury he sustained during a recent game against Oman. Lee contributed to the match by assisting a goal, but was substituted five minutes before the end after rolling his ankle. National coach Hong Myung-bo confirmed that Lee would not play on Tuesday, along with other players Paik Seung-ho and Jung Seung-hyun, who are also injured. Coach Hong mentioned that tests on Lee's injury showed it is not as severe as initially thought. He emphasized how important Lee is for both the national team and his club. South Korea currently leads Group B in the Asian qualifiers, with four wins and three draws from seven matches. The team is in a strong position for qualification to the 2026 World Cup. However, they are only three points ahead of Jordan and Iraq, making the upcoming game crucial as only the top two teams qualify directly.
