Leechburg fundraiser set for 175th anniversary on April 13

Including a daytime phone number is important. A super bingo fundraiser for Leechburg's 175th Anniversary will take place on April 13 at the West Leechburg Volunteer Firehall. Tickets are $35, which includes lunch and games. There will also be raffles and cash prizes. Good Samaritan Hospice is hosting a free workshop for youth who have lost loved ones. The event will be held on March 29 and includes art activities. Reservations are recommended by March 24. In Apollo, a spaghetti dinner will be held today from 4 to 7 p.m. at Apollo United Presbyterian Church, with proceeds benefiting the church. The Apollo Hose Company will also host bingo tonight at the firehall. Upcoming events include a candy sale to benefit Buffalo Elementary PTA and a vital blood drive in Freeport. Donations for the Freeport Area Library thrift store will also be accepted until April 9. Various Easter-related sales and activities will occur in several communities, including nut and paska bread sales in Gilpin. In New Kensington, several events are planned, including a vendor sale by the Salvation Army and an Easter sweets sale by St. George Orthodox Church. Other events include the Parks Township Sportsman’s Club music jam night and a designer purse gala in Saxonburg. Religious communities are also hosting Lenten lunch series and services, providing an opportunity for fellowship and discussion across various congregations.
