Leiter and Rocker join Texas Rangers' pitching rotation

Jack Leiter and Kumar Rocker are set to join the Texas Rangers' starting rotation for the new season. Both pitchers, who were recent first-round draft picks, secured their spots on the Opening Day roster. General manager Chris Young praised their talent, saying they have earned their place on the team. Leiter was drafted second overall in 2021, while Rocker was picked third the following year. After undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2023, Rocker made his big league debut last season alongside Leiter. In contrast, outfielder Evan Carter will begin the season in the minor leagues. Last year, Carter faced back injuries, limiting him to just 45 games in what should have been his first full season in the majors. He had a successful stint after being called up in September 2023, hitting .306 with five home runs in 23 games and contributing significantly during the postseason. He made a record nine doubles and helped the Rangers to their first World Series title.
