Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 4 features unique dual screens
The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 4 is a unique laptop featuring both an OLED screen and a color E Ink display that can twist 180°. This design allows for four modes: laptop, tablet, e-paper, and typewriting. However, it has a steep price tag of $1,855.49, which may deter potential buyers. The E Ink display aims to mimic the feel of reading on paper. Although it supports various functions, its low 12Hz refresh rate makes scrolling difficult. Users may experience choppy visuals and ghosting effects, which can be frustrating. The colors on the E Ink panel are also quite dull, covering only 0.4% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. For reading or typing, the E Ink screen does have benefits. It is easier on the eyes and can reduce distractions. There are features like Lenovo Reader mode for e-books and Lenovo Notebook for note-taking. The OLED display, measuring 13.3 inches, provides vibrant colors, making it ideal for watching videos with clear audio. However, the lack of bass may disappoint music lovers. Typing on the ThinkBook Plus feels good, with snappy keys, but the small trackpad can be unresponsive. Weighing in at 1.4 kg, it is heavier than many comparable laptops, and its battery life is below average, lasting only 6 hours and 50 minutes during web browsing. In terms of performance, it features a fast Core i7-1355U processor, which handles daily tasks well but struggles with demanding applications or gaming. Only one configuration is available, with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, which limits options for users. Overall, despite its innovative design and potential, the Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 4 does not deliver enough value for most consumers, especially given its high price.
