Lewiston's Northwest Jazz Festival scheduled for August 2025

The Northwest Jazz Festival will return to Lewiston on August 22-23, 2025. This is the largest free outdoor jazz festival in the area and will take place on Center Street. The festival's lineup for 2025 includes a variety of talented performers. On Friday, attendees can enjoy acts like the Dan Wilson Organ Trio and Matt’s Music Vocal Performance Team. There will also be performances by Fredtown Stompers and My Cousin Toné, among others. Carol Calato, the chairperson of the festival, expressed pride in the lineup, saying it honors jazz traditions while also supporting the next generation of musicians. Saturday's events will feature Tony Monaco’s House Party and trumpeter Jumaane Smith, who will lead a special ensemble celebrating the 100th anniversary of Louis Armstrong’s Hot Five. Other performers include Hot Club of Buffalo, Paradigm Shift Jazz, and the UB Zodiaque Dance Company. Music director Tony Zambito emphasized the festival's aim to highlight both jazz heritage and its future. He noted the special celebration of Louis Armstrong and the Hammond B3 organ, which has a rich history in jazz music.
