Liam Lawson blames tire cooling for poor qualifying performance
Liam Lawson faced a disappointing outcome in the Sprint Qualifying in China. He set the slowest time and believes the problem was with his tyres. Lawson said he couldn't cool his tyres between efforts during the session. This performance comes after a tough start to the season. In Australia, he had a poor qualifying round and retired from the race. Unfortunately, Lawson struggled again in China with the Red Bull RB21 car. While his teammate, Max Verstappen, qualified second, Lawson finished at the bottom of the timesheet. He was 0.558 seconds away from making it to the next round, which was secured by Isack Hadjar of Racing Bulls. After the session, Lawson expressed his disappointment over the radio. He apologized to his engineer, knowing he would start in 20th place for Saturday's Sprint race.
