Lidl Ireland's Dubai Chocolate Bar sold out quickly
Lidl Ireland launched a new product called the Dubai Chocolate Bar, creating a shopping frenzy among chocolate lovers. Priced at €4.99 for a 122-gram bar, it quickly sold out in many stores just hours after its release. The bar is inspired by a luxury version created by Sarah Hamouda in Dubai, which retails for €35 and is not available in Ireland. Lidl promoted the new chocolate on Instagram, urging customers to buy it while stocks lasted. However, many shoppers were disappointed as they found the product unavailable. Customers took to social media to express their frustration. Some reported visiting multiple Lidl locations in Dublin only to find the bars sold out. The situation led to various reactions, with one shopper saying they would immediately drive to another store in search of the chocolate. The Dubai Chocolate trend has gained popularity online, and local chocolatiers have started making their own versions. One such treat, offered by Sugar Plum Sweetery in Westmeath, has a 20-day waiting period due to high demand. The launch of Lidl’s chocolate comes just two days after Aldi introduced a similar product, the Flair Kunafa Dubai Chocolate Cake Bar, also priced at €4.99.
