Light snow expected overnight in Massachusetts
Parts of Massachusetts will experience wintry weather overnight into Monday morning, even as spring has begun. Snow is expected to start falling after midnight and will continue into the early hours of Monday. Most areas in southern New England, including Massachusetts, will see a mix of snow and rain by mid-morning. Forecasters from the National Weather Service predict that most of the state will receive a light coating of snow, potentially up to half an inch. In higher elevations like the Berkshires, however, up to 2 inches of snow may accumulate before the temperature rises. The precipitation is forecasted to clear from west to east between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Monday. As the snow and rain move out, isolated showers may linger. Monday's temperatures will remain cool, likely staying in the 40s. Tuesday is expected to bring slightly better conditions, with highs reaching the upper 40s to low 50s. Light rain is possible on Wednesday, while another round of showers may hit late Thursday into early Friday, possibly bringing snowfall to higher elevations.
