Lindt's Dubai-style chocolates return to UK supermarkets
Lindt’s popular Dubai-style chocolate bars are coming back to UK supermarkets after selling out last December. These chocolates have gained a large following on social media, especially the Pistachio and crunchy Kadayif pastry varieties. Initially, the 145-gram bars were available in limited supplies at select Lindt stores. However, demand was so high that they quickly sold out. Other brands began creating similar products to meet the desire for these treats. Now, Lindt plans to offer the bars in major supermarkets like Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, and Ocado. Sainsbury’s and Ocado already have the bars available, but Waitrose shoppers will need to wait until March 31 to buy them. In addition to the returning bars, Lindt is introducing new products. These include a Dubai Style Chocolate Praline Box and a smaller 40g chocolate bar. Both were launched on March 21 at Lindt's flagship store in London. Lindt's master chocolatier, Stefan Bruderer, expressed excitement about making these chocolates more widely available due to popular demand. Their Dubai-style chocolate is also being sold on TikTok at £3.99 plus delivery. Home Bargains is selling a bite-sized version called "Dubites" for £3.99 per 100g pack. The Dubai chocolate trend began in 2021 after Sarah Hamouda created a fusion of Middle Eastern flavors and modern sweets. Lindt followed with their version, which became a sensation after launching in New York. Some fans even traveled over 4,000 miles to get them when they debuted in Germany, waiting in long lines for their chance to buy a bar.
