Lingasugur officer suspended for misusing funds

A municipal officer in Lingasugur has been suspended due to financial misconduct. Reddy Rayanagouda, the chief officer of Lingasugur municipality, mismanaged funds during his previous role. He was accused of improperly using Rs 57 lakh meant for a new office building to buy furniture. This action violated procurement regulations. The situation came to light after a complaint was filed by Durgaraj Vatagal, the president of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike. Following an investigation, Deputy Commissioner Nitish K confirmed the allegations. As a result, Reddy Rayanagouda was suspended from his position.
