Lions Bay landslide victims' family sues over illegal construction

A lawsuit has been filed against the B.C. government and others, alleging that illegal construction caused a deadly landslide in Lions Bay. The slide killed David and Barbara Enns. The lawsuit, launched by the Enns' children and two neighbours, claims illegal road and reservoir construction on provincial land contributed to the December 2024 landslide. The Village of Lions Bay and the builder, Steven Vestergaard, are also named. The plaintiffs allege the province failed to address risks from the construction, causing property damage and wrongful death. The lawsuit seeks compensation for damages, including loss of the Enns' home and possessions.
