Lions re-sign Reynolds and O'Connor for depth
The Detroit Lions have decided to re-sign two important players: running back Craig Reynolds and defensive lineman Pat O'Connor. This move is part of the team's efforts to maintain depth in both the offense and defense. The Lions made the announcement on Tuesday through their social media channels. Although Reynolds was not tendered before the new league year began, it was reported that he intended to stay with the Lions for the 2025 season on a one-year deal. Last season, Reynolds played in 17 games, had 31 carries for 139 yards, and contributed significantly on special teams. Pat O'Connor returns for his second season with the Lions. He was a seventh-round draft pick in 2017 and has shown his value on the defensive line. In 12 games last season, O'Connor recorded 18 tackles, two of which were for a loss, and achieved one sack. His ability to step in at different positions, especially after an injury to a teammate, has made him a key player on the team. Both players will join other retained defensive linemen, such as Marcus Davenport and Levi Onwuzurike, as the Lions prepare for the upcoming season.
