Lipscomb Bisons basketball team based in Nashville, Tennessee

The Lipscomb Bisons are set to compete in the NCAA Tournament as a 14-seed. They hope to cause an upset against the three-seed Iowa State, especially with Iowa State's Keshon Gilbert missing from the tournament. Although historically, 14-seeds have struggled against 3-seeds, Lipscomb has had success recently, winning 11 of their last 12 games and finishing with a strong 25-9 overall record. Lipscomb University is located in Nashville, Tennessee. The school covers about 113 acres and is just a few miles south of downtown Nashville. It boasts a 13:1 student-to-faculty ratio and has the top undergraduate business program in the state. The Bisons play in the Atlantic Sun Conference, a league they joined in 2003. They have an all-time record of 311-280 in NCAA basketball. Lipscomb has been successful in the conference, winning regular season championships four times, including this year in 2025. Founded in 1891, Lipscomb University began as the Nashville Bible School. Over the years, it changed names multiple times before becoming Lipscomb University in 1988. Today, nearly 5,000 students attend the university. This year marks Lipscomb's second NCAA Tournament appearance. Their only previous trip was in 2018, where they lost to North Carolina. They have also participated in the NIT twice, with a runner-up finish in 2019.
