Liquor retailers in Gautam Budh Nagar must return POS machines

hindustantimes.com

The Gautam Budh Nagar excise department has instructed liquor retailers to return their Point of Sale (POS) machines by March 31. These machines are important for tracking liquor sales. A letter from the excise commissioner of Uttar Pradesh states that liquor shop license holders for the year 2024-25 must return their allotted POS machines. This includes shops selling country liquor, foreign liquor, beer, and model shops. The machines should be returned to the district excise office through regional excise inspectors or representatives from the service provider, Oasis. New liquor license holders for the financial year 2025-26 will need to pick up their allocated POS machines from the district excise office. They must also connect these machines to the Integrated Excise Supply Chain Management System (IESCMS) portal with help from Oasis representatives. The excise department has emphasized that no liquor stock can be received or sold until this integration is complete. District excise officer Subodh Kumar stated, “Compliance is mandatory to ensure smooth operations.” The department has also directed officers to publicize this information.
