Liverpool clears path to sign Rayan Cherki from Lyon
Liverpool is set to benefit from the decision of French club Lyon to sell Rayan Cherki this summer. The young midfielder, who is just 21 years old, has become one of the most sought-after talents in football. He has had a strong season, scoring eight goals and providing 18 assists. Cherki’s performance has attracted interest from several big clubs. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are both interested, along with teams from Italy. He recently showcased his skills in a friendly match against England’s Under-21 team, scoring once and assisting two others in a high-scoring 5-3 victory. Liverpool will face competition for Cherki's signature. In the past, Fulham and Crystal Palace have also shown interest. A bid from Borussia Dortmund earlier this year was rejected by Lyon. Cherki's contract with Lyon runs until the summer of 2026, but the club will allow him to leave at the end of the season. He will have another opportunity to impress scouts in upcoming matches, including an important Europa League quarter-final against Manchester United. Additionally, Liverpool is reportedly looking at Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez as a potential transfer target.
