Liverpool's Nashville Cluck receives zero star hygiene rating
A takeaway in Liverpool, known as Nashville Cluck, has lost its popularity after being given a zero-star food hygiene rating. The restaurant, which was a favorite among TikTok influencers for its chicken burgers, is now closed to orders on delivery platforms. The environmental health team from Liverpool City Council inspected the restaurant on February 12. They found that the restaurant needed urgent improvements in food handling, safety management, and cleanliness. This zero-star rating is the lowest possible for food establishments. Nashville Cluck had transitioned from a "dark kitchen" to a walk-in venue, attracting many fans. Influencers like The Scouse Ghetto Gourmet and The Burger Reviews praised the food and the efforts to bring authentic Nashville recipes to Liverpool. The restaurant opened in October 2022 and gained popularity quickly. It even outsold McDonald's in Liverpool at one point. Following the poor hygiene rating, a spokesperson for Nashville Cluck expressed disappointment. They said the rating does not match their usual high standards and highlighted their significant investments in quality ingredients and equipment. They assured customers that there is no risk to the safety or quality of their food. The spokesperson explained that the zero rating affected several brands operating from the same building. They emphasized that Nashville Cluck operates from a separate kitchen and has no ties to the issues found in the other unit. The team also announced plans for a follow-up inspection, hoping to achieve a better hygiene score that reflects their commitment to cleanliness and safety.
