Livonia man dies in semi-truck crash on I-94
A man from Livonia died in a serious crash on I-94 on March 24, 2025. He was ejected from a semi-truck after a collision near the Indiana state line. First responders arrived at the scene just before 4:30 p.m. They found that a semi-truck traveling eastbound had crossed over a cable barrier. It then struck another semi-truck moving westbound. The driver of the eastbound truck, 45-year-old Jeffrey Oneal, was ejected along with his seat. He was found unresponsive on the road and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the westbound truck was not hurt. Witnesses reported that Oneal appeared to be in distress before the crash. One driver who saw the incident said he was having trouble staying in his lane. She noticed the truck suddenly turned left and crossed three lanes of traffic. The Berrien County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the crash. An autopsy will help determine if any medical issues contributed to the accident.
