Local authors have released new books focusing on race, romance, and poetry. Catherine Burroughs' novel "Ibo's Landing" explores the legacy of slavery through the story of two families coping with a mixed-race child, set from 1959 to 1994. "Conversations with Ted Kooser," edited by John Cusatis, features 21 interviews with the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet. The book chronicles Kooser's journey from regional poet to national figure, highlighting his commitment to making poetry accessible. The Carolina Romance Writers Group has published "Love in the Lowcountry," an anthology of short romance stories from nine authors. The book includes various themes, from sweet to spicy, and will be launched on April 12 at Itinerant Literate Books in North Charleston.
