Local high school sports results from Southland region

High school and local college sports results are coming in from different areas, including Southland, Aurora, Elgin, Naperville, and Lake County. Here are some highlights from recent games. In high school baseball, Barrington won against Jacobs with a score of 7 to 4. Jacobs player Andrew Deegen had a good game with a home run and two RBIs. Burlington Central shut out Johnsburg 5-0, thanks to Chase Powrozek's impressive pitching. Chicago Christian dominated Beecher, winning 19-1 in just four innings. Josh Sedakis led with a home run and four RBIs. De La Salle also had a strong performance, beating Clemente 14-4. In girls soccer, Naperville Central defeated Belleville West 2-0. Emma Russell and Callie Tumilty both scored goals for Naperville. St. Laurence won against Cristo Rey 5-0, with Bri Diaz and Natalie Romano both contributing goals. For softball, Andrew beat Joliet West 8-0, while Jacobs had a close game against Johnsburg, winning 11-6. Ana Cisek shone for Andrew with a big performance, including two doubles. Local colleges also had matches. Judson won both games against Viterbo, and St. Ambrose had a strong showing against Trinity Christian. Overall, it was an exciting time for sports in the area, with plenty of outstanding performances and close matches.
