London woman charged with mother's fatal shooting

A 26-year-old woman from London has been arraigned for the fatal shooting of her mother. Brianna Rich pleaded not guilty to murder during her court appearance on Monday morning. She was arrested late Friday night by local sheriff's deputies. According to 911 reports, Rich called to say she had shot her mother and was attempting CPR. When deputies arrived at the home, they found about ten shell casings. Her mother, Carol Rich, was pronounced dead at the scene, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. While a 9mm pistol was recovered at the location, it has not been confirmed as the weapon used in the shooting. Authorities have not established a motive for the incident. There were also no prior reports of domestic issues between Brianna and Carol Rich. The investigation is being led by Detective Taylor McDaniel, with assistance from various law enforcement personnel and emergency services. Brianna Rich is currently held at the Laurel County Correctional Center. Her bond is set at $250,000, and she is scheduled for a preliminary hearing next Tuesday.
