Londoner dies in Hwy. 401 crash near Dutton-Dunwich

A London man was killed in a crash on Highway 401 early Friday morning. The accident happened near Dutton-Dunwich at about 3:30 a.m. Emergency crews responded to the scene after a car drove east in the westbound lanes and crashed into a commercial truck. The 25-year-old driver of the car was taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead. The truck driver was not hurt in the collision. Police have not released the name of the deceased out of respect for the family's privacy. As a result of the crash, the westbound lanes of Highway 401 at Currie Road are closed for an investigation. There is no clear estimate on how long the closure will last.
