LongHorn Steakhouse construction starts in Lenoir

Work has started on a new LongHorn Steakhouse in Lenoir, North Carolina. The old Fatz restaurant is being demolished to make room for the new eatery. Demolition began the week of March 3, according to Lenoir Planning Director Hannah Williams. The new LongHorn Steakhouse will be located at 975 Blowing Rock Boulevard, right in front of Walmart. City officials expect the restaurant to open by winter. Residents have expressed excitement about the new restaurant. Mayor Joseph Gibbons noted that people are eager to see LongHorn come to Lenoir. He mentioned that while it is sad to see Fatz close, welcoming LongHorn is a positive development for the community. The opening of LongHorn coincides with plans for a new Wingstop restaurant to open nearby, at a former Carolina West Wireless location in a strip mall at 1009 Blowing Rock Blvd. City leaders hope these new additions will enhance dining options in the area.
