Longmont Senior Center offers free birds of prey event
The Longmont Senior Center is hosting a birds of prey presentation on April 11. The event will run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the center located at 910 Longs Peak Avenue. Local resident Dave Fletcher and other volunteer naturalists from Boulder County Parks and Open Space will lead the presentation. It is open to the public, especially for adults aged 55 and older. Attendees will learn to identify various birds of prey, such as hawks, eagles, and falcons. The presentation will cover their habitats, ecology, and distinguishing features. Participants will receive tips on identifying different raptors by their behavior and other characteristics. Those interested in attending must register at least six hours before the event.
