Louis Buffon opts for Czech Republic national team

Louis Buffon, the son of famed Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, is making his own path in football. At just 17 years old, he has chosen to play for the Czech Republic instead of Italy. Buffon plays as a winger for Pisa, a team in Italy's second division, and has just made his professional debut. He has been selected for the Czech U-18 national team to compete in upcoming matches against England, France, and Portugal. His decision stems from his family roots. His mother, Alena Seredova, is from the Czech Republic, making him eligible to represent the country. Buffon shared his thoughts on the decision with the Czech Football Association. He said, “I talked to the family and we decided that playing for the Czech Republic would be best for my football career and my development."
