Louis Vuitton launches limited travel-inspired watch design

Louis Vuitton has announced a new luxury watch designed for travel, created in collaboration with master watchmaker Kari Voutilainen. This timepiece is called the LVKV-02 GMR 6 and has a stylish 40.5mm size. It is based on the Escale model that was released last year. The name "Escale" means "stopover" in English, highlighting Louis Vuitton's strong connection to travel. The watch design features lugs that mimic the brand's iconic trunks, complete with sharp angles and rivet-like details. The watch features a gold dial made in four parts. The hour circle is decorated with a diamond-polished, hand-painted design by Maryna Bossy, using 28 colors and taking 32 hours to complete. The center of the dial showcases Voutilainen's unique engraving method, which creates intricate patterns. The lower sub-dial includes a day-night disc with sun and moon motifs inspired by Louis Vuitton's logo. The name GMR 6 refers to the watch's travel features. The "R" indicates a power reserve display, while the "6" marks the time zone sub-dial's location. The GMT function allows wearers to set the watch to their home time easily while traveling. Louis Vuitton will produce only five of these watches, each coming in a custom travel trunk crafted in its Asnières workshop.
