Phase 1 of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 1 Cavite Extension is set to open in November, according to Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista. Partial operations will begin in two to three weeks. The extension includes five new stations: Redemptorist – Aseana, MIA Road, PITX, Ninoy Aquino Avenue, and Dr. Santos. These stations are equipped with elevators, escalators, and tactile guides for accessibility. The new line aims to reduce travel time from Quezon City to Parañaque City to under an hour. Preparations for safe integration with the existing LRT-1 system are ongoing, including testing of automated ticketing systems.
