The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has completed its Public Transport Modernization Program (PTMP), with 85.6% of public utility vehicles (PUVs) now consolidated into cooperatives or corporations. Out of 191,730 PUVs, 164,137 have joined the program, surpassing the previous consolidation rate of 83.88%. This achievement follows a deadline set by President Marcos. LTFRB Chair Teofilo Guadiz III called this a significant milestone for the government, marking seven years of efforts to modernize public transport in the Philippines.
