The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has suspended new guidelines for transferring ownership of used vehicles. The order required sellers to report transactions within five days, but this is now on hold until further notice. LTO chief Vigor Mendoza stated that the suspension aims to clarify provisions and extend the compliance period. The memo takes effect immediately, and an amended order will be drafted with input from stakeholders. Previously, the guidelines mandated new owners to register and transfer ownership within 20 days. Non-compliance would have led to the LTO tagging the vehicle.
