The Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) has seized the bank account of the Kalyan Singh Super Specialty Cancer Institute & Hospital due to unpaid property taxes. The total amount owed is over ₹9 crore, specifically ₹9,02,02,339, as of March 31, 2025. Officials stated that the hospital management did not respond to multiple notices regarding the outstanding payment. As a result, the LMC decided to take action in accordance with the Uttar Pradesh Municipal Corporation Act of 1959, which allows for the seizure of assets for unpaid dues. The municipal corporation has frozen the hospital's bank account, which will remain inaccessible until the hospital provides a no-dues certificate. This means that no funds can be withdrawn during this time. A representative from the cancer institute assured the officials that the tax amount will be paid by Wednesday. However, LMC Commissioner Inderjit Singh warned that if the payment is not made as stated, the account will continue to be frozen.
