Lucknow suspect checked for CCTV footage after crime
Lucknow: CCTV footage has revealed that an auto driver, accused of kidnapping and murdering a woman, returned to the crime scene to check for surveillance cameras. The suspect was seen passing a private hospital near the Kasmandi police outpost at 2:07 a.m. while traveling towards Malihabad with the victim. Later, at 3:24 a.m., the same suspect returned to the area. Police believe he wanted to see if any cameras had recorded his actions. After committing the crime in a secluded mango orchard, the suspect likely became paranoid about being caught. The footage shows the auto slowing down in front of the hospital as the driver looks around for cameras. Once he spotted one, he drove away quickly. Investigators say this indicates his awareness of being watched. To avoid detection, the accused had taken lesser-known routes rather than main highways, choosing areas with little police presence at night. However, his return to the crime scene proved to be a mistake. The cameras he was trying to avoid now serve as important evidence against him. Inspector Baidhyanath Singh of Malihabad has stated that police have obtained multiple clips showing the suspect's movements before and after the crime.
