Ludhiana to host five-day theatre festival starting March 23

A five-day theatre festival is set to begin on March 23 in Ludhiana. The event will take place at Punjabi Bhawan and run until March 27. Punjabi Sahit Akademi is organizing the festival with help from several cultural organizations, including the North Zone Cultural Centre. The festival will honor the martyrdom of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru. It will feature various plays and discussions focusing on their legacy. Prominent cultural figures unveiled the festival poster on Wednesday. Gulzar Singh Pandher, the general secretary of Punjabi Sahit Akademi, emphasized the importance of showcasing Punjabi theatre. Several theatre artists will lead discussions on themes related to Bhagat Singh's ideology and current social issues. The festival will include performances of various plays. Some titles are ‘Chhipan Ton Pehlan’ and ‘Main Bhagat Singh’. Additionally, there will be discussions called ‘Manthan’ on select days. These sessions will explore the socio-political themes and revolutionary ideas presented in the plays.
