Ludhiana wins Smart City award for Pakhowal Road project
Ludhiana's Municipal Corporation and Ludhiana Smart City Limited (LSCL) have won the Smart City Award for their Pakhowal Road project. This award was given during the 10th Smart Cities India Expo in New Delhi on Friday. The project received recognition for its innovative transport solutions. Aaditya Dachalwal, the commissioner of the Municipal Corporation and CEO of LSCL, accepted the award. He was honored by several officials, including Rajeev Chadha from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Dachalwal attended the event with engineers and other team members. The project, costing Rs 130 crore, included the construction of one railway overbridge and two underbridges. It aims to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity in a busy area of Ludhiana. Dachalwal stated that the project uses advanced techniques and eco-friendly materials to reduce environmental impact. By eliminating rail crossings, the project not only speeds up travel but also enhances safety for drivers and pedestrians. This initiative aligns with the goals of the Smart Cities Mission, focusing on better urban mobility and sustainable engineering practices.
