Luke Goode seeks extra eligibility year for Indiana
Indiana University's basketball team had a challenging season. They started strong, being ranked in the AP Top 25, but their performance declined. Doubts grew about whether they would qualify for the NCAA Tournament after some tough losses. However, they finished the regular season with important wins against rivals like Purdue and Michigan State. Despite these wins, the selection committee decided that Indiana did not have enough accomplishments to be selected for the tournament. This season also marked the end of head coach Mike Woodson's time with the team, as he announced he would step down. Following the season, Indiana quickly hired Darian DeVries as the new head coach, coming from West Virginia after only one year. Senior player Luke Goode is now seeking a fifth year of eligibility. He has submitted paperwork to the NCAA, aiming for a hardship waiver. Goode missed much of his sophomore season due to injuries, playing in only 10 games. If he receives the extra year, he hopes to stay with the Hoosiers. Goode said he wants to lead the team as they aim for a successful future. With DeVries as coach, there is optimism for a stronger season next year.
