Lynette Ortiz enhances Landbank's services for farmers

Lynette Ortiz is the president and CEO of Land Bank of the Philippines (Landbank). She has over 30 years of experience in banking, including time in New York and Singapore. Ortiz is known for her skills in risk management, treasury, and corporate finance. Before joining Landbank in 2023, Ortiz was the first Filipino CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Philippines. During her six years there, she helped with important financial transactions and government fundraising efforts. She left her high-paying job to support Landbank's mission of helping small farmers, fisherfolk, and local government units. Ortiz is also a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion in the workplace. She has participated in conferences and led initiatives such as the local staging of Vagina Monologues for women's rights. In 2021, she won an award from the United Nations for her commitment to women's empowerment. She earned her degree in economics from the University of the Philippines, where she was taught by notable figures like Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Eli Remolona Jr. and former BSP Governor Benjamin Diokno. Ortiz started her career at Citibank in the Philippines before moving to New York, where she earned her MBA. As CEO of Landbank, which has assets of P3.4 trillion, Ortiz aims to improve service and create competitive banking products. She wants Landbank to be on par with private banks in the country.
