M25 crash in Essex causes significant traffic delays
Drivers are facing major delays on the M25 due to a serious multi-car crash. The anti-clockwise section of the motorway is closed in Essex between junctions 30 (Thurrock) and 29 (Upminster). This incident occurred around 7:45 AM and is causing traffic to back up to junction 25 at Enfield. The clockwise lane after the Bell Common Tunnel also has one lane closed, adding to the delays. Roadworks in the area are making the situation worse. National Highways stated that traffic caught in the closure will not be allowed to pass the crash site. Emergency services, including Essex Police, are at the scene to manage the situation. There is also congestion on the opposite side of the road, reaching back to junction 28 due to onlookers. This incident comes as the M25 is scheduled to close again this weekend for further roadworks. Previous closures took place earlier this month at junction 10. Drivers are advised to plan their routes carefully to avoid heavy traffic. The M25 is one of the busiest motorways in the UK, with around 200,000 users daily, connecting vital routes for commuters and long-distance travel.
