M4 MacBook Air remains challenging to repair
The new M4 MacBook Air, released earlier this month, features improved performance and a lower price of $999. However, it remains difficult to repair, similar to its predecessor, the M3 model. iFixit's teardown shows that while battery repairs are easier than in previous models, many components still require complex procedures. The M4 MacBook Air received a repairability rating of 5 out of 10 due to challenges with the battery, screen, and integrated memory. Some ports, like MagSafe and USB Type-C, are easier to replace, but storage upgrades are not possible. Overall, the design has not significantly changed, limiting user repair options.
