MacIntyre warns PSNI may impact Donohoe inquest integrity
Investigative journalist Donal MacIntyre has warned that if the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) concealed details about a surveillance operation against him, it could affect the inquest into Noah Donohoe's death. MacIntyre stated that this could be a resignation issue for the police chief. PSNI Chief Constable Jon Boutcher confirmed that officers monitored two Twitter accounts related to the Donohoe case but denied involvement in a break-in to MacIntyre's car, where sensitive materials were disturbed. MacIntyre believes the surveillance allegations could undermine the inquest's integrity. The PSNI has faced scrutiny for its handling of the Donohoe investigation and has previously admitted to spying on journalists. An independent review of the PSNI's surveillance activities, including the claims against MacIntyre, is now underway.
