Macron and Saudi Prince condemn Gaza airstrikes, promote peace
French President Emmanuel Macron spoke with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Wednesday. They discussed the ongoing conflict in Gaza and condemned the renewed Israeli airstrikes in the region. Macron emphasized the need for a ceasefire to protect civilians and secure the release of hostages. Both leaders announced plans to co-chair a conference focused on establishing a two-state solution for Israelis and Palestinians. This effort aims to revive political dialogues for peace. The Israeli military has resumed operations in Gaza, with reports indicating that at least 48 Palestinians were killed on Wednesday. This follows a day of severe airstrikes that resulted in over 400 deaths, marking one of the most violent periods in the ongoing conflict. In addition to Gaza, Macron praised the crown prince's initiative that began peace talks in Ukraine. The leaders also touched on issues in Syria and Lebanon, agreeing that both countries should have stability and sovereignty.
